I did 4oz of plain flour, 4floz of milk and 2 eggs with some salt and pepper to taste if that's any help. Then I fried the sausages just to brown them and put it all in the oven for 35 minutes.

When I make it I use a dish big enough for the batter to just make a thin layer across the dish, not even a third of the way up the sausages. Any more than that and it is like a thick solid mass...
